As we have been seeking God in a very intentional and biblical way, through fasting and prayer, I know God has been at work.
Would you take a moment, click on the word "comments" below (bottom right, beside the pencil), and in the box that opens up, write some thoughts about fasting from your experience during these days?
If you prefer not to write anything, but just want to see what others have written, click on the word "comment" and you'll see all the comments made so far.
Here are some questions to prompt your thinking as you write (answer as many as you like or don't use them at all. They are just to give you some ideas):
How long did you fast?
How has the experience of fasting affected you spiritually?
What did you notice while you fasted, or after you fasted?
What did you learn from your experience about fasting? About God? ...about yourself?
What advice would you give someone who has never fasted?
Thank you for taking the time to do that.

I fasted several days during the emphasis... at times I felt close to God, at others I struggled to keep my mind off of food, and at times I noticed no difference spiritually at all. Is that normal?
I decided to fast for lunch one day and prayed that God would open a door for me to be able to share my faith with someone. What happened was pretty awesome. I was online with a new Vietnamese friend and our conversation turned towards religious beliefs. He is a Buddhist so it was that much more awesome when he started asking me about Christ and my personal beliefs. Needless to say God took over at the keyboard. I think a huge SEED was planted.
I have fast every Sunday of the month, the first week before my fast was amazing, as I prepared for the fast the Holy Spirit was so evident, I felt him more that week than I have since my salvation. The first week I focused on myself, things that were still haunting my heart. Things I believed were keeping me from being the Christian I want to be and keeping me from allowing the Lord to do all he has planned for me.
He has healed my heart from something I never thought could heal, I thought the scars would remain forever. The Lord had been working on me for 2 yrs. in that area but during my fast he helped me see the truth and the light of it all.
(He healed my heart and the scars no longer remain)
Also I prayed very much on bad habits I could not shake, The Lord answered me in that area also.
The 2nd and 3rd week I focused on how to lead the lost to him,
(My hearts desire)
He has made my desire so strong I feel as if my heart is on fire.
I also focused on our Church, our fellowship with him and for God to show his awesome power in the church.
I have spiritually grown so much, because of his awesome healing.
He has given me victory over my sin of bad habits.
He has also given me VICTORY over my spirital battle. Things that would cause spirital battle for me are gone. I dont worry or think about them anymore, I have true faith the Lord will handle all those things.
The past 3 weeks have been truely AMAZING. I believe I can now be the christian I desire to be and he can do the work he has planned for me.
(PRAISE GOD)
Dear anonymous,
when you fasted, did you spend that time with just you and God? I mean did you really get deep in his word and did you pray hole heartly, most importantly were you confessed up to date as you began your fast.Did you prepare for your fast meditating on the scriptures Bro. Danny gave us?Im good with going without food, I get so busy sometimes I dont take the time to eat, I thought food would not even be an issue with me, but you know it was, my belly growed more the days of my fast than ever. I personally think that is Satan doing anything he can to interupt your focus. Rather your situation with your fasting was normal, I cant answer that, this was my first time fasting.
It's can be a GREAT blessing
Dont give up !!!!!
continue to fast again, It was heart changing for me.I will pray the same for you, I dont know who you are but God does and thats all that matters.
God Bless
